Dallas

Hi, I’m Dallas Nagata, and I do all sorts of art! I owe anime my artistic beginnings, which originated the summer of 1999 as I spent my time watching Toonami on Cartoon Network every afternoon. Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z were some of the first subjects of my fledgling artwork, but I soon moved on to creating original characters, and eventually developing my own style. All throughout high school I identified myself as an artist, learning about the more traditional methods of drawing, painting, design, and scuplture. However, it was college that led me to discovering my career art: photography.

I have been serious about photography ever since my freshman year of college in 2004. After taking the introductory darkroom photography course, I was hooked, and soon after received my first Digital SLR camera, a Canon Digital Rebel, for Christmas in 2004. I quickly learned that my photographic interests lie dominantly in portraiture, and I have never looked back. While I photograph every subject possible, from skyscapes to animals, my passion will always be photographing people, attempting to capture their essence in a visual image.

While I am currently self-employed as a professional photographer, and working as a photographer’s assistant for fashion photographer Daeja Fallas, I also still draw and paint on the side! I am currently focusing on developing my own style for illustrating in the digital painting medium.

Also, with my expanding experience in the fashion industry, I am also now exploring clothing and accessory design!

I am available for hire as either photographer or for commissioned drawings/paintings. Please email me at dallasnagata at gmail dot com for inquiries!
